?As long as means as long as, as long as. Just like As soon as, As long as is a subordinating conjunction.

?As well as means: As well as, in addition to or not only, but also. Thus, As well as has the same meaning as not only…but also and can completely rewrite the sentences for each other.

The as well as structure is used to join two clauses, introduce known information, and emphasize new information mentioned in the following clause. In other words, it is often used to list parts of the same nature in a sentence.

3.1 After As well as is a verb

V2 is usually divided in the form of V-ing. In case V1 is in its infinitive form, then V2 is also in its infinitive form.

He hurt his arm, as well as breaking his leg. (V2 divided in V-ing form)

In the example “Mary, as well as Ann, was delighted to hear the news”, the verb conjugated by subject 1 is Mary. This is called subject-verb concord. If the sentence has the structure S1, as well as S2 + V, then V will always be divided by S1.

Just like As long as, as well as is also used in the comparative form with the structure as + Adv + as.
