PowerPoint is a presentation program developed by Microsoft. It is included in the standard office suite along with Microsoft Word and Excel. This software allows users to create anything from basic slideshows to complex presentations.

Viewing: What is Powerpoint

PowerPoint is commonly used to create business presentations, but can also be used for educational or informal purposes. Presentations include slides, which can contain text, images, and other media, such as audio clips and movies. Sound effects and animated transitions can also be added to add appeal to the presentation. However, using too many sound effects and transitions can annoy the audience rather than grab their attention. (Yes, we’ve all heard the hum of a car squeal enough times in a lifetime.)

Most PowerPoint presentations are created from a template, which includes a background color or image, a standard font, and a choice of several slide layouts. Changes to the template can be saved to the “master slide,” which stores the master slide theme used in the presentation. When changes are made to the master slide, such as choosing a new background image, the changes are propagated to all other slides. This keeps a uniform look among all the slides in the presentation.

When presenting a PowerPoint presentation, the presenter can choose to have the slides change at preset intervals, or can decide to control the flow manually. This can be done using a mouse, keyboard or remote control. The flow of the presentation can be further customized by loading the slides entirely or one bullet at a time. For example, if a presenter has multiple bullet points on a page, he may have individual points that appear when he clicks. This allows for more interaction with the audience and more focus on each point.

PowerPoint presentations can be created and viewed using Microsoft PowerPoint. They can also be imported and exported with Apple Keynote, Apple’s presentation program for the Macintosh platform. Since most people don’t want to see a presentation on a laptop, PowerPoint presentations are usually displayed using a projector. Therefore, if you are preparing a PowerPoint presentation for a room full of people, just make sure you have the correct video adapter.

Step 2: Go to Files at the top of the screen and click New. A box that says “New Presentation” will appear on the right side of your screen.

Step 7: Add a photo You can add a photo by clicking on the box that says “Click to add content”. Inside that box, there will be a smaller box with six icons. Click the icon that looks like a photo of a mountain. A new window will open, allowing you to browse for photos on your computer or CD. Once you find your photo, click on it and then click “Insert”.
